'Common' laylatul Qadr Amal of 23rd Night - Laylatul Qadr

The 23rd Night -Laylatul Qadr

Laylatul-Qadr is the night, which is the best night among the nights of the whole year. The "A'maal" (religious performances) of this night are better than the A'maal of 1000 months. In this night the divine Annual Decree is passed. The Angels and Roohul Ameen (A highly dignified Angel) descend on this earth, in that night. These call on the Imam of the time, and what is ordained (by Allah) for everybody is presented before the Imam.

The twenty-third night of Ramadhan, the last of the Qadr Nights, is more meritorious than the 19th & 21st & many narrations confirm that it is the Qadr Night at which all affairs are decided.
In addition to the General a'amal at all the three Qadr Nights, there are other 'specific additional a'amal' for the 23rd night :-

1. Recite Surahs of al-`Ankabut (No. 29)
Imam al-Sadiq (a.s) is reported to have said, “Anyone who recites these two Surahs at this night will be included with the people of Paradise.”  + Recite Surah of al-Dukhan (No. 44).

2. It is recommended to repeat Surah of al-Qadr  (No97)thousand times.

3. The night is inextricably linked to the Imam of our time Recite this Special Salaat of Imam & Dua from Sahifa Mahdi.

4)It is recommended to say the following supplication :

ALLAAHUMMAMA-DUD LEE FEE U’MREE WA AWSIA’-LEE FEE RIZQEE WA AS’IH’H’A LEE JISMEE WA BALLIGHNEE AMALEE WA IN KUNTU MINAL ASHQIYAAA-I FAM-H’UNEE MINAL ASHQIYAAA WAK-TUBNEE MINAS SU-A’DAAA  FA-INNAKA QULTA FEE KITAABIKAL MUNZALI A’LAA NABIYYKAL MURSAL S’ALAWAATUKA A’LAYHI WA AALIHEE YAMH’ULLAAHU MAA YASHAAA-U WA YUTHBITU WA I’NDAHOO UMMUL KITAAB

5. Recite the following supplication  2 :

Common' A'amaal for (19 & 21) Laylatul Qadr

19th & 21st Ramadhan Month Nights -Specific A'amal / Duas

The night of 19 Ramadhan 40 A.H. marked the beginning of one of the greatest losses to humanity. A man who had given everything to others, who had been oppressed but never thought of revenge, who forgave his enemies, who helped the weak and fathered the orphans was preparing to meet his Lord. .....When it was dawn, Imam Ali (AS) proceeded to the mosque slowly. ..Imam arrived at the Kufa mosque and prostrated himself before Almighty Allah (swt). At that time, ibne Muljim (May the curse of Allah befall him) dealt such a blow on his head, everything in this world became heartbroken except the face of Ali who cried out: “By the Lord of the Kabah, I have been successful!”

On 21st Ramadhan,AH 40, Imam Ali ibn Abi-Talib, Amir al-Mu'minin peace be upon him, departed from this life as a martyr

Specific '19th & 21st Night' Duas /Aa'mal :

Eve of Destiny (Laylatul Qadr) is the night, which is the most blessed and excellent of all nights. A prayer during this night is superior to the prayer of a thousand months. The destiny for the year is decided on this night.

3. Remember your sins & seek forgiveness. Recite 100 times :

Recite other Duas related to Repentance:-Munajat e Taebeen , Dua Tauba  & Dua Kumayl.

4. The Holy Qur'an should be opened and placed in front, then one should recite:

When opening the qur’an and praying for your needs with the intercession of the qur’an, realize that while the qur’an is a cure for spiritual illness, it only benefits the pious ones and the evil doers are deprived of its illumination. Thus increase the chances for qur’an intercession to work on your behalf by earnestly following the rulings of the qur’an.

Place the Holy Qur'an on ones head and say,

After this repeat 10 times each: As you seek intercession of the Almighty (bika ya al…) and the 14 Infallibles( Ahlulbayt as) realize that God is limitless in  Mercy and the Infalliables are pure agencies for the distribution of divine mercy to all creations.

One should then pray to Almighty Allah to fulfil one’s desires.

 5. Recite the Ziarat of Imam Hussain (A.S.). According to Hadith, during Lailat-e-Qadr an angel proclaims from the Arsh (throne) on the Seventh sky that Allah has forgiven who have visited the grave of Imam Hussain (as).  While performing Ziyarah of Imam Hussain (as), remind yourself that on this night, the souls of 124,000 Prophets (peace be upon them all) visit Imam, who is aware of our inner spiritual reality and is hurt and repulsed by our record of repeated evil deeds, indifference to God’s commandments; thus, we should avoid disgracing ourselves in that great audience of Imam. Also, associate the themes in the ZIYARAH of: - Firm bond of love and obedience of God (SALAT). -Economic betterment of community (ZAKAT).  -Overall mobilization of forces towards virtue (AMR BIL MA`RUF).  -Overall cleansing of evil from society.  -All-out war in all spheres of life to promote truth (JIHAD). -Tremendous endurance of all ensuing difficulties (SABR). -Complete distancing (LA`NAH) from all forms of injustice (DHULM) with destiny- shaping opportunity of this night and resolve to become on active player in improving the future in preparation for the REAPPEARANCE OF AL-MAHDI.
