History of Mubahila

WHEN ISLAM WON A CLEAR VICTORY:-

“To those that argue with you concerning Jesus after the knowledge you have received say: ‘Come, let us gather our sons and your sons, our women and your women, ourselves and yourselves. We will pray together and call down the curse of Allah on every liar’.” [Glorious Quran Chapter 3 verse 61]

In the year 9AH Prophet Mohamed (SAW) wrote to the heads of different tribes and countries of the world inviting them to Islam. One of the letters was written to the Christian community of Najran. A  large delegation was appointed to go to meet the Prophet (SAW).

Warmly welcomed by the Prophet (SAW). they were put up in one part of the mosque where they were allowed to perform their prayers comfortably. They asked the Prophet (SAW). What he thought of Jesus and he said: “He was a human being created by God and was a prophet.”

“Have you ever seen any child born in this world without a father?” they asked. The Prophet (SAW) replied: “Jesus is like Adam in the sight of Allah. He created him from dust and then said to him 'be' and he was.”  [Glorious Quran Chapter 3 verse 59]

They could not answer his argument, but continued to debate the issue. Then the ayah (verse) inviting them to a “Mubahila” was revealed. When real arguments fail to produce the desired effect, then to wish for the intervention of Allah’s judgement in order to sift the right from wrong, is called Mubahila.

The Christians of Najran accepted the challenge and at the appointed hour arrived at the place where the Mubahila was going to take place. There they saw the Ahlul Kisa, the family of the Prophet: The Prophet (SAW), Imam Ali (AS) Imam Hassan (AS) and Imam Husain (AS) and Sayyida Fatima (AS) and immediately their leader Abu Harith said:

“I see such faces that if they raise their hands in supplication and pray to God that the biggest mountain may be moved from its place, the same will happen immediately. We should in no circumstance engage in a Mubahila with these sacred people because it is possible that not even one of us may remain alive on the face of the earth.”  They withdrew from the Mubahila.

A'amal for Ghadir - 18-Zilhijjah

Imam Ali Ibn Moosa Ar Reza (a.s.) said: "It is highly rewarding to be in Najaf Iraq today for performing the Ziyarat of Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (A.S.). Give Alms today as much as you can, in the name of Allah, to the less fortunate, because, the "day of Ghadeer" is particularly specified for helping deserving people."

We can give expression to our joy and happiness in a suitable manner keeping in view the life style the tenets of Islam. It is highly desirable to make the believers (Momineen) happy. to do favours to relatives, to give gifts, and invite friends and relatives to eat meals together, forgive mistakes etc.

Recite salwaat "Allahuma salle alaa Mohammad wa Aale Mohammad "   اللّهُمّ صَلّ عَلَى مُحَمّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمّدٍ بِهِ.'O Allah, send blessings on Muhammad and his household'.

Do Istighfaar (seeking forgiveness from the Almighty)as many times as possible.

 

(1) Have a Ghusl /bath, put on new or clean clothes and apply perfume

  

(2) Observe fast. (Fasting on the Day of Ghadir is equivalent to fasting the time span of the (existence of the) entire world-A hadith )

 

(3) Recite  Ziarats of Imam Ali ibne Abi Talib(as)

 

 i) Special Ghadir Ziarat   (ii) Ziarat Ameenallah &   (iii) Ziarat Mut'laqah

 

(4) Recite Dua'a Nudbah

 

(5) Pray a 2 Raka't Salaat. before/near noon time , as under:

In the first Rakat recite Sura Qadr after Sura Fatihah & in the second Rakat recite Sura Ikhlass after Sura Fatihah

After Salaam

-Go into Sajdah and say 100 times: 'SHUKRAN LILLAAH '

-Then sit and recite the dua'a "Allamumma inni asaloka be anna lakal hamda wahdaka..(click here given below).

-Then go into Sajdah and recite :'ALHAMDU LILLAH '100 times & 'SHUKRAN LILLAH '100 times

A Hadith says 'One who does this a'mal today is entitled to receive the reward of a person who was present at Ghadeer, had heard the declaration, and accepted it as true'.

 

(6) Another 2 Rakat Salaat-

 

In every Raka't, after the recitation of Soorah Al Fatih'ah,

recite:  (i) Soorah Al Ikhlaas 10 times.+ (ii) Aayaat ul Kursee 10 times. +(iii) Soorah At Qadr. 10 times.

 

 

 

(7) At the time of meeting with the brothers-in-faith say the following:

 

اَلْحَمْدُ للهِ الّذى جَعَلَنا مِنَ الْمُتَمَسِّكينَ بِوِلايَةِ اَميرِ الْمُؤْمِنينَ وَالاَئِمَّةِ عَلَيْهِمُ السَّلامُ

ALH'AMDU LILLAAHILLAD'EE JA-A'LANAA MINAL MUTAMASSIKEENA BIWILAAYATI AMEERIL MOOMINEENA WAL A-IMMATI A'LAYHIMUS SALAAM

اَلْحَمْدُ للهِ الَّذى اَكْرَمَنا بِهذَا الْيَوْمِ وَجَعَلَنا مِنَ الْمُوفنَ، بِعَهْدِهِ اِلَيْنا وَميثاقِهِ الّذى واثَقَنا بِهِ مِنْ وِلايَةِ وُلاةِ اَمْرِهِ وَالْقَوّامِ بِقِسْطِهِ، وَلَمْ يَجْعَلْنا مِنَ الْجاحِدينَ وَالْمُكَذِّبينَ بِيَوْمالدِّينَ

 

ALH'AMDU LILLAAHIL LAD'EE AKRAMNAA BIHAAD'AL YAWME JA-A'LANAA MINAL MOOFEENA BI-A'HDIHl ILAYNAA WA MEETHAAQIHIL LAD'EE ATHAQANAA BIHI MIN WILAAYATI WULAATI AMRIHI WAL QUWWAAMI BIQISTEHI WA LAM YAJ-A'LNAA MINAL JAAHEDEENA WAL MUKAD'D'IBEENA BIYAWMID DEEN

 

 (8) Recite the following 100 times:

 

 

 اَلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِيْ جَعَلَ كَمَالَ دِيْنِهٖ وَ تَمَامَ نِعْمَتِهٖ بِوَلَايَةِ أَمِيرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ ع‏

 

ALH'AMDU LILLAAHILLAD'EE JA-A'LA KAMAALA DEENIHI WA TAMAAMA NIA'-MATIHI BIWALAAYATI AMEERIL MOOMINEENA ALIYYIBNA ABEE T'AALIB A'LAYHISSALAAM
